VirtualAppliances.net has released the latest build of their LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) virtual appliance. Details of the release are below.
VirtualAppliances.net has released build 110 of its popular LAMP
Virtual Appliance. This LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP/Python/Perl)
server appliance can be downloaded and running within a matter of
minutes.
Quick & Easy Web Application Deployment
Installing a wide range of web applications is as easy as dragging and
dropping the package into the LAMP VAs shared document root. This
Virtual Appliance's footprint is as tiny (59MB to download) as it is
easy to use (no Linux skills required).
Many Other Software Updates
This release is packed with new features based on user feedback,
software updates, improvments, and is available for VMware, Microsoft
Virtual PC & Virtual Server, and Virtual Iron.
Shell Access now enabled!
Based on user feedback, shell access via VMware console & SSH is
turned on by default. It is now possible to edit the Apache HTTP
Server configuration, edit crontab entries, install your own files,
and manage additional storage.
Additional New Features
* Network configuration improvements, including the addition of
support for static network routes
* Additional built-in PHP modules enabled for improved compatibility
with popular web applications
* PEAR -PHP Extension and Application Repository support for
end-user management of PHP extensions
