JumpBox Virtual Appliance Library updated with the release of JumpBox Platform 1.0

It’s been pretty quiet around here lately and that’s because I’ve been really occupied with my company and getting our production release out. So today we’re announcing the production release of the JumpBox Virtual Appliance Platform 1.0 and a suite of updated virtual appliances. The pitch I’ve been playing with for these things is that they’re “server software that you can throw away”. Of course we don’t want people to throw them away, but it’s a liberating feeling to know that you can. Download, run, try, and if you don’t like it, toss it out, all in a matter of a few minutes.

We currently have nine applications available and more are on their way.

These things are really easy to get running. All you need is virtualization software from VMWare or Parallels and they work exactly the same whether you use them on Mac OS X, Windows or Linux. So maybe there are a few other benefits beyond being able to throw them away.
