Moka5, a company that’s targeting the concept of carrying your own PC with you on a USB drive also has a directory where people are posting what they’re calling “Public Live PCs”. From what I understand, these are really just VMWare virtual machines with software pre-installed similar to a lot of the VMWare virtual appliances. The focus of Moka5 is on desktop usage, where a lot of the VMWare images are server based but the concept is the same. Moka5 has been getting a fair amount of attention lately and is another good step toward broad adoption of virtualization technology, even on the desktop.
