Ben Metcalfe has interesting post looking at the costs around Amazon’s new utility computing services S3 and EC2.
It’s touted as being an economical platform way to run your start-up/company/website/whatever from as it makes use of the space capacity Amazon owns from it’s e-commerce platform
These are very much on my radar as well. The cost of the EC2 service is a little high for running a 24/7 server, but it’s interesting to look at it for extra capacity and S3 now factors into all of our plans that involve software storage and downloads. Amazon definitely has some interesting ideas in this space.
