Over on the VMTN blog the following statement was made.
The security blogosphere is very active, with lots of shouting and hand-waving. Great fun. Mike Rothman’s Daily Incite is a good place to start, and I’ve been enjoying reading StillSecure’s Chief Strategy Officer Alan Shimel as well. The virtualization blogosphere could probably stand to step up our level of two-way conversation, although I’m not sure about the shouting.
The lack of two-way conversation is something I’ve noticed as well. I subscribe to every virtualization oriented blog I come across and there is almost never any linking between them. It’s kind of weird compared to my experience from blogging on other topics. Oh well, I’ll keep trying to hand out links when I can, but people need to do more than just posting press releases to make things interesting.
Virtualization and Virtual Appliance news, tips and opinions.

I do agree that many virtualization-oriented blogs focus more on “virtualization news” than “virtualization discussion”. So how you do propose we jump-start the transition?
Just jump in and start a conversation. I’ll try to do my part by linking more and starting a few conversations myself.
And I’ve been promising I would expand Planet V12n to include more blogs since VMworld — coming up. That should help people follow along, but we’ve still got to say something interesting.
Sharing links is certainly important, but you’ve touched on the heart of the matter, John–we’ve still got to say something interesting.
I’ll certainly do my part to try to link more as well as to try to generate original content that is interesting as well as useful.
It seems this is a start and events like John pulled together at VMWorld help as well. I think it will just take time, and as virtualization moves more into the mainstream and out of the corporate data center there will be more interesting things to talk about.
Hey, I even linked to you twice yesterday after the Gallery appliance made the cut for your Parallels conversions.
I’ll keep doing that if you post good content, and I’m sure others will as well.
I have noticed though that there generally aren’t that many comments flying around on virtualization sites, perhaps most of our readers are shy “data center” people.
I doubt it though.
