It’s a big day for Mac virtualization betas.

To go along with the release of the beta for VMWare Fusion for Mac OS X, there’s also a new beta (Parallels Desktop for Mac Update Beta2 (Build 3094)) for VMWare’s chief Mac competitor Parallels.

Parallels has been making great strides on integrating virtualized Windows into the Mac OS X desktop. With this release they’ve added the ability to put windows apps into the Dock and launch them like any other Mac OS X application.

Note: the save states from the previous beta are incompatible with the new release.

Note 2: For virtualization geeks, so far it seems Parallels and VMWare can coexist on the same machine, something that isn’t necessarily true on other platforms.
